Vigil Application Process

Forum: Welcome!
Raeshlavik
In case you've just sort of staggered across this web site and are looking around confused, let me offer up a few tidbits of info. Vigil is an online gaming guild currently gearing up for Crowfall 's release in early 2017. We are a very regimented and military-minded group, going as far as to have a rank structure and meritorious awards for our members. This rank structure and award system is separate from the games we play, and is intrinsic to the guild. Vigil has a rather intricate...Read More...

Assassin

Forum: Archetypes
Raeshlavik
Here we are in March! Time really does fly, doesn't it? Anyway, just released from the nice folks at ACE: our first look at the Assassin! https://crowfall.com/en/news/meet-the-assassin/ This is an archetype many have been anxious to learn more about, and now we will get to start working on the stealth systems - hugely important in PvP.Read More...

Housing

Raeshlavik
A few of the various house models were posted for ogling today: Starting off small we have the cottage; your basic roof and four walls. But if you need a place to put your stuff between battles, this is where it all begins. Moving up in the world you have the Villa. And the final demonstrator is the Manor House... I think I have a couple of these and will probably give them out to high-ranking leaders for their personal use. :)Read More...

Resource Types and Tiers

Norah
This is rough - but at least it's a starting point. One of my frustrations in Big World Testing is that it can be hard to visually identify resource types (at first), and also there's no mouse-over tooltip to tell you what that giant tree is you can't harvest. I found this online, though it's not 100% accurate. The lowest level wood at this point is called "Knotwood" in live. I *think* Oak is separate, unless they actually changed it while playing - but I seem to recall oak stacking...Read More...

Introduction Thread

Tosimew
Hello! I honestly don't really know many of you. I wanted to start this thread up so I can start getting to know people and for future new members to introduce themselves. You're welcome to give as little or as much detail (but not too much) about yourself as you want. So I'll start this off! I usually go by Tosimew or Tosi. I'm here because of my interest in Crowfall and I expect a lot of awesome things out of this community Imperious and Raeshlavik both have a great ideas and drive to make...Read More...

Discord

Imperious
While we've largely invested in TS3 as our battle communications platform, my internet limitations here abroad have me largely dependent on text clients. As such, I have tossed up a Discord server for members. There's a handful of us in there already, and as time progresses this is a good opportunity to get to know folks before we move forward with Crowfall. Some general forewords: Banter encouraged, just keep it civil; Leave politics and all that nasty stuff out; Please don't post anything...Read More...

Crafting Disciplines

Norah
Hello all! So for now, this is a work in progress - we don't know a *ton* about crafting in Crowfall yet, other than it is expected to be a major component of the game and will have a significant role for players. For example, there are no repair vendors in Crowfall, like there are in other games - if your gear or vessel starts taking damage (which it will), you'll need to find a crafter to repair the damage. No auto-repair function here! Some links from the devs so far (though note, these...Read More...

World O'Warcraft

Raeshlavik
It appears that several of us have found ourselves in WoW of late, and accordingly we've circled the wagons a bit and set up a small guild for Vigil within the game. This is nothing hardcore mind you; no three nights a week raiding schedules or anything like that... This is just something so that it's easy to get people together to run content and/or create running commentary whilst a world-boss wrecks us over and over again. :) With the "Legion" expansion, it's very easy to get back into...Read More...

Exploration Disciplines

Norah
There's been a bunch of good information coming out in the last week or two concerning Crowfall's Harvesting system, which is one of five Exploration disciplines. Going to start compiling some of that info here! Exploration Disciplines: Animal Husbandry (breeding, training of animals) Farming (seeds, dirt, you) Tracking (tracking skills - players, animals, points of interest) Vessels (ability to control better vessels, use of legendary vessels) Harvesting The main one we have info on so far...Read More...

About Crowfall

Raeshlavik
I've been playing MMOs since they were invented and have spent great amounts of time in the ones I will mention in this article. I've also been around the industry since it's inception and know some of the players in the space pretty well... And, as a high level backer of the game, I am privy to not only the current pre-alpha testing, but also have a direct line to the developers where I can ask questions and get answers. So I like to think I'm a pretty good person to detail what it is about...Read More...

Games for team training

Raeshlavik
We're kicking around ideas for games that can be played as a group, that offer the opportunity to review and practice squad maneuvers and build team communications. There are a few criteria to be met though: As our bread and butter game doesn't release until 2017, we're not in a big recruiting phase right now and are still laying a lot of the ground-work. So any game should have solo-play viability as well as ~5-player teams just to get our money's worth. Monthly fees are generally frowned...Read More...
